Speed Optimization

OUR APPROACH

Speed Optimization

Speed optimization in web design refers to the process of making a website load and run faster. This can be achieved through a variety of techniques, such as reducing the size of images, minifying CSS and JavaScript code, and using a content delivery network (CDN). Speed optimization is important because it directly affects the user experience. A faster website will lead to a better experience for the user, which can result in increased engagement, conversions, and overall satisfaction. Additionally, page load time is a ranking factor for search engines, so a faster website can also improve search engine optimization (SEO) and result in higher search engine rankings.

There are different type of speed optimization techniques such as reducing the number of requests, using browser caching, deferring javascript, using lazy load images, compressing images, and more.

Additionally, there are tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and WebPageTest that can be used to test a website’s speed and provide recommendations for optimization.

What do we do to optimize page speed?

Page speed depends on a lot of different factors, but not all factors are worth the effort to optimize a website’s page loading speed. We would like to explain to you what we do to optimize the page speed of your website/webshop.

Lazy loading images

Lazy loading images means that images are only downloaded when they enter the viewport (with a threshold). Normally, all images of a web page are downloaded - even images that you don't even see yet. That is inefficient, because then you would have to wait longer for a web page to completely load.

Optimize images

We make sure that your website serves images in a modern file format, and the images are not larger than necessary. This way, web pages on your website or webshop will not get as heavy and will thus load faster, especially for visitors with a limited downloading speed, such as 3G, 4G or 5G (mobile network).

Minifying files

Minifying files means that we remove all the characters and data from a file that is not necessary for the file to be functional.

By removing all unnecessary characters and data from a file before sending it to your web browser, we end up sending you a file that is not as heavy as a file with all the unnecessary characters and data. This will have an impact on the weight of the web page.

We understand the importance of approaching each work integrally and believe in the power of simple.
